Wow. I am so mad. I just finished typing this damn entry up when I, being stupid, accidently ex-ed out of the page. Stupid. ugh. >:( 

Anyway. I come bearing fic recs! 

The first is that absolutely hilarious Ten Things I Hate About You au that scoradhwrote a while back.

I literally had a smile on my face and a giggle in my throat the whole time I was reading this. Seriously. It was just fun, well-written, and pretty hysterical. A+++ job!

Practically all the elements of the story fit together perfectly to enhance its comic appeal. A lot of the characters in the story are exaggerated unrealistically, but it's done in such an intentional, skilled way that it didn't trigger my squick at all. It all simply makes the story even funnier. Now, I heard that (or, okay, I stalked her livejournal /o\) this is her first bandom fic. If that's true, than major props to her. I am terribly excited to read her stuff in other fandoms (that's how much I'm fangirling her right now, seriously). But there was only this one small issue at the end that made me go >:((  *Spoilers, highlight to read* So scoradh wrote Gabe as kind of this slutty asshole, which, okay. That was annoying, but not exactly unprecedented, yeah? Anyway, that part wasn't completely irredeemable. But at the end, she seemed to try to make amends for his character, and slapped in a romantic storyline for him in about 50 words. It felt sloppily done, and incredibly out of place with the story. So, yeah. I still really love the rest of the story, though, so don't let that stop you from reading!

"Calm down," said Patrick. He sounded like he was eating something. "Come over to my place, I'll lend you a banjo."

This is an au in which Brendon is blind, and has been for his entire life. I actually really enjoyed this more than I thought I would. Brendon being blind just sounds kind of like a signed invitation for bad!fic, you know? But jezzabe pulled it off incredibly well.

There was such a depth of character for Brendon, and all the other band members as well. She kind of walks us through the band's entire history, only rewritten to include Brendon being blind. It was fascinating to read about all the little differences and overall similarities between canon and this fic. I especially liked how the flashbacks were paced; I often dislike flashbacks because they sometimes detract from the story's flow, but I didn't notice that here at all. Overall, a very emotional ride, but well worth it!

Summary: An AU where Brendon is blind, interviewers are morons, and Pete is Pete. 

In other news, I am so excited for Warped Tour!! Only two and a half more weeks! \o/
