Okay, let's talk about this mix. Let's talk about HOW AMAZING IT IS. I love everything about it. When I first downloaded this and saw the front and back covers, that was it. I was thinking to myself, "OH MY GOD. OH MY GOD IT IS SO PRETTY. (the box! the alternating strips of black and white on the back! ROBOT LOVERS ANONYMOUS!) Even if the mix doesn't complement the story at all, I will be happy."

...but it does. It goes with it so, so well. The first song just jumps into the story--it's so bubbly and welcoming and energizing and exciting. It made me excited for the story, and I was the one who wrote it. So. And the trumpets in it! I am just charmed by the entire song.

And this mix has so many songs that I lovelovelove. I didn't own a single one of them (I actually don't have a single song from any of my mixes because I am a music fail, but that is another story), but I know a lot of them, and that just added to my enjoyment of the mix. There are a ton of old favorites in this, and hearing them accompanied by my story was--I can't even describe it. Plus, the selection of the songs was genius! I Want You to Want Me describes perfectly Pete's state of mind. Uh, SPOILER ALERT, by the way. Every lyric in that song is so, so self-centered, but totally oblivious of that. Which is exactly how I picture Pete in my head. A selfish but well-meaning douche. \o/

AND THEN THERE WAS BEYONCE. And I was dead.

I am so happy you enjoy the mix! I really loved your fic so much! It was so funny and the subtle details and world building was fantastic. And oh, Pete. PETE. You really nailed that thin line between an irredeemable character and someone who is flawed but ultimately a good person and I ADORED HIM. And all the characters, everyone just hit the perfect note and I could go on and on singing this fic's praises. You are fabulous, and I really am thrilled the mix worked for you. ♥

Oh my god, I had SUCH FUN world building. Possibly someone should have stopped me after I started writing about Tom Cruise and Scientology and clones. /o\

And the characterization! I am so pleased you thought it worked. Because the Pete in my fic is really close to the one I have in my head, and anyway, it's not really interesting if he's not flawed, is it? That's part of his charm, I think.
